2009 Guild Raffle Quilt
"Midnight in Paradise"
Click on the quilt below for information about the raffle quilt and how to purchase tickets.

This quilt was made as the opportunity quilt for the 2009 quilt show of the Friendship Knot Quilters’ Guild of Sarasota, Florida. It is the result of a combination of two designs by Judy Niemeyer, Bird of Paradise and Tropical Flowers. It is machine pieced and machine appliquéd using the invisible machine appliqué technique of Harriet Hargrave. It was quilted on a long-arm machine by Marie Snyder, a professional quilter and guild member. The piecing and appliqué preparation were done by members of the guild. The appliqué and final completion of the quilt was done by Susan Ott, who chaired the committee. Construction of the quilt was done in 2007 and it was quilted and completed in 2008. The quilt is 91” X 91”, approximately queen size.

Combining elements of two Judy Niemeyer patterns, this quilt is machine pieced and appliqued and is long-arm quilted. It has won 2nd place in the Chapter Row category at the NQA show in Columbus, Ohio in June 2008. It has also been juried in the AQS show in Nashville in August, 2008.

The drawing will be held during the last hour of the Quilt Show on Saturday. You do not need to be present to win.
