Friendship Knot Quilters’ Guild
Executive Board Meeting
February 13, 2007
Present: Tena Davis, Joy Abbott, Betty Behanna, Cass Bowen, Sue Hootman, Carroll Jenkins, Linda Nichols, Susan Ott, Judy Schmalzried, Jane Shannon
Old Business: The meeting room contract with Church of the Palms is still in process. The 2006 financial report and the 2007 budget will be voted on at the February meeting. Linda Nichols volunteered to take on the position of Guild Historian. Preservation and storage of Guild records was discussed, and we will be looking for an appropriate facility for this.
New Business: A table will be set up at Guild meetings for quilt teachers and shops to make flyers and information available to members.
Committee Reports:
Quilt Show: Linda Nichols reported that 106 Guild members have signed up to work at the show, and Inge Ireland has sold an outstanding 36 ads for the show booklet. It was decided that FKQG members will receive free admission to the show on presentation of their 2007 membership card. Quilt show security was discussed.
Treasurer: Financial records for 2006 are now being audited.
Membership: 251 members have renewed their Guild membership.
Cottage Groups: Carroll Jenkins will work with the Quilt-Ins to form new cottage groups and will make up a pamphlet showing photos.
Newsletter: Editor Judy Schmalzried needs to obtain Microsoft Publisher and Adobe Acrobat, which will be registered to the guild; this was unanimously approved.
Website: Google Group is available to Guild members; Ann Greene will post an article about this.
Programs: Marlene is already working on the holiday program for this year.
Education: We are looking into having a quilting retreat at Dayspring Center this summer.
Respectfully submitted, Jane Shannon, Secretary
