QUILT SHOW UPDATE
Drop off is February 24, Saturday, from 10:00 to 2:00 at Charlotte Hase’s, 4733 Sweetmeadow Circle, Sarasota. Please note the time is 10:00 to 2:00, not 3:00 as it has been in the newsletter. The map is in the December and January newsletters. If you are unable to drop off your quilt because of scheduling conflicts, you can ask another member/friend to do this for you.
The Art Quilt categories will be reviewed on Sunday February 25 by Sheryl Haler, a member of the faculty of the Ringling School of Art and Design, for the purpose of making special awards.
All of the categories will be judged on March 1 and 2 by our NQA judge, Brenda Kalata.
Set-up for the show is Thursday, March 8. Please contact Jane Perin 377-9390 if you can help. She’ll give you a list of “what to bring and where”. The men are asked to bring a stepladder, cordless drill and flathead screwdriver.
The QUILT SHOW IS FRIDAY, MARCH 9, FROM 9:00 TO 6:00 AND SATURDAY, MARCH 10 FROM 9:00 TO 4:00.
Admission is $6.00 for one day and $10.00 for both days.
Show workers are asked to park in the back behind the auditorium and walk around to the front entrance (turn at the light at 10th Street and 41).
You are also asked to eat upstairs. No food will be allowed in the show area.
Quilts may be picked up after the show at 5:00. You must have your receipt to get your quilt. If you are unable to arrange for pick up after the show, your quilt will be available for pick up at my home (4535 Forest Wood Trail, Proctor Road entrance to Bent Tree) on Sunday, March 11, after 1:00 PM.
We still need workers! Work schedules will be posted at the February meeting and on the website. Please know what you signed up for and when.
If you haven’t signed up to work on a Show Committee please do. We need you!
We especially need white-glove hostesses (contact Pattie Clendenin 366-4103), and raffle ticket sellers (contact Mary Jo Drantel 343-0522).
Donor Quilt Raffle tickets are $1.00 each and are available at Guild meetings and on the website. Also available at meetings and at the Show are raffle tickets for the yo-yo quilt and for the Husqvarna Viking Sewing Machine, which was generously donated by Quilters Haven and More.
Small and Mini-Quilt Silent Auction quilts are due at the February meeting. Any pattern, any technique, any color you wish. Outside perimeter should be 72 inches or less.
Also needed are blocks for the Boutique Unfinished Block Auction!
